Interior of Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean, NY. No furnishings or architectural features of any significance have been removed from this edifice since its blessing and opening in 1915 by Venerable Nelson Baker (aka “Father Baker.”) Since its consecration in 1919, the year the famous windows were installed, the basilica has enjoyed a reputation in the Southern Tier in the Diocese of Buffalo as a place of pilgrimage to see these magnificent Munich style windows–some of the finest domestically-produced Munich style windows in the United States. The congregation has paid for and maintained this glorious House of God dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of the Angels for more than 100 years.
